General overview

Aluminum anodizing stands out for its aesthetic appeal and durability, making it ideal for façade and architectural uses due to its excellent corrosion and weathering resistance.

However, despite the common use of anodizing in batch lines, the market lacks continuous coil anodizing solutions for façade materials, a niche scarcely filled by engineering firms offering comprehensive services.

Globus bridges this gap by providing a fully integrated continuous coil anodizing solution, complete with both process and mechanical equipment, alongside dedicated technical and technological support tailored to customer needs.

Process

The anodizing process includes several steps. The lines supplied by Globus are precisely engineered to cater to unique client specifications and stringent quality standards and include all the process phases required to obtain material with the highest surface quality. By incorporating advanced technology and customizable features, these lines offer a robust solution for clients aiming for superior end products, demonstrating Globus's commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Strip Degreasing

This stage employs advanced spray cleaning technology to meticulously remove oil and other surface contaminants from the strip, ensuring uniformity across the process. This critical step is fundamental in preparing the metal surface for subsequent treatments, guaranteeing that the quality and adherence of the anodizing are consistently high.

Etching

Through the precise application of adjustable chemical etching, Globus achieves a uniformly smooth aluminum surface. This process is finely tuned to the needs of the material, allowing for flexibility in the etching duration independent of the processing speed, resulting in a perfectly prepared surface for further anodizing steps.

Desmut

This specialized process efficiently removes alkaline residues and effectively dissolves the 'smut' film that can form on the aluminum surface after etching. It is a crucial step to ensure the metal is perfectly clean and ready for the anodizing phase, contributing to the final product's aesthetic and functional quality.

Anodizing

The anodizing phase is at the heart of Globus's line, creating a durable, porous oxide layer that significantly enhances the metal's surface hardness and resistance to weathering.

The electrolyte used in the process is a solution of sulfuric acid diluted in water. This process is carefully controlled to achieve a specific oxide layer thickness, ensuring optimal durability and protection.

Coloring

Globus offers a wide range of coloring options after the anodizing treatment, utilizing both electrolytic processes and pigment absorption. This flexibility allows for the creation of materials in a vast spectrum of color shades, from the lightest tints to deep blacks, tailored to customer specifications and design requirements and depending on the treatment duration and the settings of the electrical waveform generators.

Sealing

The sealing process chemically transforms the oxide coating into a more stable and hydrated form, greatly increasing the material's resistance to chemical and atmospheric elements. This essential step ensures the longevity of the material's aesthetic and functional properties.

Process automation

Globus's advanced process automation ensures that all parameters are meticulously controlled and monitored, allowing for precise adjustments to meet exacting quality standards. This system includes data collection modules for comprehensive quality tracking, linking specific process variables to coil positions for unmatched quality assurance.

Strip handling

The line is completed by all the mechanical equipment required to handle the strip. Drawing on extensive experience in processing lines, Globus designs and implements comprehensive mechanical solutions for strip handling. These are customized to fulfill each customer's unique requirements, ensuring an efficient and smooth operation throughout the anodizing process.
